We run a one-and-half day residential course at the beautiful Saladin Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Acheron valley. The course is designed to help you improve your fly fishing and advance it to the next level. It includes lots of on-stream time with an experienced instructor.
One and a half day course
Start time: 10:00 am Saturday
Finish: 2 pm Sunday
Location: Saladin Lodge, Narbethong, Victoria
Based in the Acheron valley 90 mins East of Melbourne, our course will show you some of the important casting and fishing skills and techniques that can improve your enjoyment and success on the water. Learn from our 25 years of experience.
From beginner to advanced student, we tailor the actual activities to the participants relative level of skill and experience.
Includes:
- Reading the water and identifying trout lies (where are they?)
- How to fish the nymph
- How to fish the dry fly
- Fly selection – which fly to use and when
- Knots and leader set-up
- Different casts and different approaches for different situations
- Presenting the fly and managing drag (Casting and drifting the fly to the trout in a natural way)
- Short line fishing
- Casting need a tune up? We will help with that too.
What to expect/What is included:
- Lots of practical fishing time
- No more than two anglers per instructor
- One night’s accommodation in Saladin Lodge (twin share).
- Meals included
- Packed lunch on Saturday
- Dinner Saturday evening,
- Cooked breakfast on Sunday morning
- Lunch after course in Saladin Cafe
